Recovery App — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-30

Recovery App ("the app") computes a daily recovery score from your Apple Health data. This policy explains what we read, where it goes, and how to have it deleted.

What we read

With your explicit permission, the app reads the following from Apple Health: heart-rate variability, heart rate, resting and walking heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, VO₂ max, cardio recovery, sleep, and activity/workout data. The app only requests the read permissions it uses, and never writes to Health.

What leaves your device

Raw Health data never leaves your device. The app reads your detailed samples locally — for example your watch's beat-to-beat intervals, your individual heart-rate readings, and your sleep stages — and summarizes them on your device into a single value per metric per day. Only those daily summaries are uploaded; the underlying raw samples are never transmitted or stored on our server.

For example, a night's beat-to-beat intervals — thousands of data points — are reduced on your device to one overnight HRV figure (RMSSD, in milliseconds), and only that number is sent. The other values uploaded are the same kind of once-per-day summaries: median HRV, resting / minimum / average heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, wrist temperature, VO₂ max, cardio recovery, total sleep and sleep-stage minutes, and daily activity totals (active energy, exercise minutes, steps). Workouts are sent as summaries (type, duration, distance) to track shoe mileage. No raw waveforms, no individual samples, no continuous streams.

Where your data goes

To compute scores and trends across days, the app uploads these daily summaries to a backend server operated by the developer. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored per-user, isolated to your account (created via Sign in with Apple). We do not use third-party analytics or tracking, we do not use your health data for advertising, and we do not sell or share it with third parties.

Retention & deletion

Your metrics are retained so the app can show history and baselines. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app — open the Setup tab and tap Delete my data. This permanently removes your account and every record you've uploaded from the server, and cannot be undone. You can also request deletion by emailing the address below. Revoking the app's Health permissions in iOS Settings stops further reads.
